Multiple suspects accused of human trafficking at Warren 'spas' arraigned

WARREN, Ohio - Four suspects in a human trafficking case in Trumbull County have all been arraigned Thursday morning.
Young Hee Yoon was arraigned on two counts of promoting prostitution on Thursday, May 8. Her bond was set at $50,000 cash surety and she was ordered to remain in jail until her Korean passport is surrendered to the court.
She is also forbidden from working at or entering any massage parlor and ICE has been notified of her case.
Additionally, three more suspects were arraigned earlier in the day. These suspects include Chang Mi Hwang, Kum Cha Shugars and Dong Meliodon.
Hwang is charged with one count of engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity and three counts of promoting prostitution, Meliodon is charged with one count of engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, six counts of promoting prostitution and 34 counts of money laundering and Shugars is charged with one count of engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity and one count of promoting prostitution.
All four suspects are due back in court June 5.
There are four other suspects in this case that have not been arraigned yet including Tae Suk Hwang, Young Sug Kim, Miock Dong Schaffer and Suk Hui Starr.
All of these suspects are charged in connection with a crime ring that allegedly trapped Korean women at multiple massage parlors in Warren for three months at a time forcing them to perform sexual acts for money.
Search warrants on the Tiger Spa and Sunny Spa, both located on West Market Street in Warren were conducted in March of 2023, during which investigators seized large amounts of cash, financial assets and business records.
That investigation culminated in the indictment of these eight suspects.
