Noise barrier to be built on Route 82 in Champion Township

CHAMPION TWP., Ohio - The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) has announced that a noise barrier is scheduled to be built on State Route 82 in Champion Township in the coming years.
According to ODOT, the barrier will be constructed on the south side of SR-82 from SR-45 heading eastbound for approximately .067 miles and will provide noise reduction to residents living along Stewart Avenue.
ODOT says the noise barrier will benefit 59 residents in total.
Construction on the noise barrier is set to begin sometime in 2027. The project will be paid for with a combination of state and federal funding. The state funding is generated through Ohio's gasoline tax.
ODOT recently built another noise barrier in Mahoning County on I-680 near Boardman and Youngstown. You can read more about that here.
