Ohio Republican Party endorses Vivek Ramaswamy for Governor

The Ohio Republican Party has endorsed candidate Vivek Ramaswamy for governor during its meeting on Friday, May 9.
The State Central Committee voted 60-3 with one abstention in favor of Ramaswamy's candidacy.
This endorsement follows President Donald Trump's day one endorsement of Ramaswamy's campaign along with the support of over 90 Republican leaders across Ohio and the U.S.
Ramaswamy is quoted in a press release saying he is honored to receive the official endorsement from the Ohio Republican Party and for the supermajority vote from the State Central Committee.
Ramaswamy gave a special shoutout to President Trump, along with U.S. Senator Bernie Moreno, Congressmen Jim Jordan, Warren Davidson, Michael Rulli and Dave Taylor, Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose, Ohio Treasurer Robert Sprague, Ohio Senate President Robert McColley and the majorities of the Republican caucuses in both chambers of the Ohio General Assembly.
"I am running to lead and improve the lives of all Ohioans regardless of their race, gender, creed or partisan affiliation. Over the next year, my wife Apoorva and I will listen to not just the Ohioans who already support us, but to those whose support we will have to work hard to earn," Ramaswamy said.
According to the release, recent polling shows Ramaswamy holds a lead of more than 60 points over any potential Republican primary opponent and stands as the only Republican candidate with a statistically significant lead over any Democratic contenders in the general election.
