Traffic delays extended in East Liverpool for bridge replacement project

EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio - Drivers in East Liverpool can expect to see traffic delays for a little longer due to work on a bridge replacement.
These delays were originally slated occur near the interchange of U.S. Route 30, State Route 39 and State Route 7 between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. from Wednesday, May 14 until Friday, May 16.
However, a news release from the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) says the delays are expected to continue through Friday, May 23.
The delays will be in place while a contractor places new beams on the 9th Street bridge as part of the 9th Street overhead bridge replacement project. That project is expected to be completed by the end of October.
Two detours will be in place during this two-day period. The detour from Route 30 westbound to SR-7 southbound is to continue eastbound on Route 30 to Jackson Street, then turn left onto Jackson Street to return to Route 30 westbound for SR-7 southbound.
Meanwhile the detour from Route 30 westbound to SR-7 southbound is to continue west on Route 30 westbound to the SR-170/Calcutta/East Palestine exit to SR-170. From there take SR-170 to Route 30 eastbound and take Route 30 back to SR-7 southbound.
