Thursday saw the ribbon cut at a three story building in downtown Warren.
It's the home to Valley Health Services, a merger between Valley Counseling and Axess Family Services.

"We particularly aim at accessibility, affordability and of comprehensive care," said VHS director Renee Klaric.

The Warren offices will feature labs, screenings and immunizations, behavioral health and substance abuse services, and even family practice and dental health - along with its own pharmacy.

It's all with the goal of improved health outcomes.

"Patients now no longer need to worry about transportation, going elsewhere, whether they have multiple doctors and need to be seen at different locations, they don't need to worry about that because now it can all be done under one roof here," says AxessPointe family medicine physician Dr. Vikil Girdhar.

Valley Health Services is what's called an FQHC or Federally Qualified Health Center.
It's a safety net provider with a focus on underserved populations.

"We have a sliding fee scale. What does that mean? That ensures necessary medical services are affordable to individuals, families, regardless of their financial situation," said Klaric.

And with Warren and Trumbull County on the brink of the largest growth seen in years, this facility seems to be coming at just the right time.

"The transformation of this facility into a comprehensive center for whole person care is exactly...exactly the kind of progress that our community of Warren needs," said Warren mayor Doug Franklin.

VHS' location at 4970 Belmont Ave. will provide family practice health care along with its own pharmacy as well. The Valley Counseling building on Mahoning Ave. in Warren will feature pediatric care once renovations are finished.
