Cool week ahead; good ol' soaking tonight

Heads up: Heavy rain at times extends through a wetter Wednesday

We can breathe easy again today – the AC can stay off this week! Mother Nature has delivered a comfortable and, importantly, dry start to the brand new work and school week. Savor these conditions, though, as Wednesday will bring a return to wetter weather.

Feeling awake with this brisk Tuesday morning. Temperatures have fell on either side of 40-degrees with a clear sky and relaxed winds over our freshly planted Posies. Expect a gradual warm-up today with more clouds rolling in as the day progresses.

    Heavy rain at times Wednesday:

Heads up! Bring your outdoor cushions inside before the sunset tonight. Your dry Tuesday has an expiration date - which would be this evening. Rain is on the horizon, set to sneak in from the south, spilling northward to cover the entire in area before sunrise on Wednesday. Get ready for a wet Wednesday, with rain a likely companion for both your morning and evening commutes.

Some localized spots could experience heavier rainfall, which could lead to swelling rivers and washed away much beds. There's a fine line between needed rain for the seeded lawns and disruptive downpours. Looks like we will wring out about 0.75” - 1.00” of rain out of this event.

We'll see the back end of this midweek rain system by Thursday, but the weather won't be bouncing back to warm or completely dry. Instead, get ready for a quick shift to cool and showery conditions - what a lovely fall week we are having this spring. A significant push of colder air is on its way (the coldest Memorial Day weekend stretch in 12 years), and many areas will see temperatures stuck in the 50s for Thursday and Friday with nagging showers hanging around.

As we move beyond this cooler spell, expect temperatures to slowly inch upwards on the way to Memorial Day. For those eager for summer's full warmth, it seems we'll need to exercise a bit more patience.

    Have a great Tuesday!

Plenty to iron out in the days ahead, but it’s an unusual weather week overall.
