Struthers seeks public input on downtown safety improvements project

STRUTHERS, Ohio - The City of Struthers is asking for public comments on its upcoming safety improvements in the downtown area.
The proposed safety improvements were recommended as part of a safety study that found areas that could be made safer for drivers, bicyclists and pedestrians.
Included in the plan is an upgraded traffic signal at the intersection of State and Bridge Streets, improvements for pedestrian crossings, bike lanes, curb extensions and bumpouts, new pavement markings and new curb ramps.
According to the release, the project is expected to start in 2026 and has a price tag of $1 million. Struthers received Ohio Department of Transportation grants for the design and construction.
If you have a comment on any social, environmental or economic impact of the program, comments and questions can be submitted on the project website or by emailing Mayor Catherine Cercone Miller at mayor@cityofstruthers.com.
