Toledo man sentenced to 4 to 6 years for Austintown stabbing, foot sniffing incident

AUSTINTOWN TWP., Ohio - A Toledo man who stabbed a man in Austintown followed by sniffing his bare feet has been sentenced for his crime.
An employee at Judge Anthony Donofrio's court tells 21 News that 32-year-old Nathaniel Frybarger pled guilty to two counts of kidnapping, as well as one count each of felonious assault and aggravated robbery.
He was handed an indefinite prison sentence of four to six years on these charges.
The charges stem from an incident at a business on the 5000 Block of Mahoning Avenue in November of 2024 when a male victim had asked Frybarger if he needed help, to which Frybarger replied asking him if he was making fun of him.
Police said Frybarger pulled a knife on the man and demanded money, followed by the PIN number for his credit card when he told Frybarger he wasn't carrying cash.
Frybarger then demanded the man take off his socks and shoes so he could smell his feet, which the man complied with. Police said Frybarger shoved him into a bathroom stall and cut his hand with a knife.
The man only suffered minor injuries from the incident.
