Sheriff's Office investigating multiple robberies at Newton Township park

NEWTON TWP, Ohio - The Trumbull County Sheriff's Office is investigating multiple robberies that happened at a Newton Township park between May 18 and 23.
Both incidents took place at Foster Metro Park in Newton Township, with the first happening around 1:30 a.m. Sunday May 18.
The victim told deputies he was robbed after he met a woman on a dating app and agreed to meet her at the park. Deputies say he was instead greeted by three suspects who threatened him at gunpoint and took his gun.
Meanwhile the second incident happened around 11:30 p.m. Friday, May 23 where another victim was robbed under similar circumstances by what appears to be the same group of suspects.
In both instances, the suspects fled the scene in a large SUV or pickup truck. No description of the suspects was given.
