BOARDMAN, Ohio - A Youngstown man has been charged with a felony and arrested after police say he stole money from a cash register at a smoothie stand at the Southern Park Mall.

According to a police report, the incident happened in late April when a male suspect walked up to a closed smoothie stand in the Southern Park Mall and took a banana without paying.

Police say that same man came back a short time later and began moving the cash register around and managed to open it. The man allegedly took $200 from the cash register, along with $100 worth of produce and left.

Police were eventually able to identify 52-year-old Martin Goss as a suspect and a warrant was issued for his arrest. Police were eventually able to find Goss on May 19 after a traffic stop in Beaver Township. A hospital hold was then placed on him.

Jail records show Goss was booked on Tuesday, May 27. Court records show he is charged with one misdemeanor count of theft and one felony count of safecracking.

Goss is set to be arraigned on these charges Thursday, May 29.
