Warnings issued after 11- and 12-year-olds flee police at Southern Park Mall

BOARDMAN TWP., Ohio - Two pre-teen boys were issued trespass warnings for Southern Park Mall on Tuesday after mall security and police said they refused to leave the property.
Boardman police were called by mall security at around 4:30 p.m. to report that two boys, ages 11 and 12, were being disruptive and would not leave when asked.
Both boys reportedly fled from an officer who spotted them near Macy's.
Patrolmen apprehended the pair in the west mall parking lot.
The boys were issued trespass warnings and turned over to their mothers.
The incident follows previous reports of unruly juvenile behavior at the mall and other Boardman retailers, including a Target store, leading to arrests and bans.
Southern Park Mall's Youth Escort Policy, in effect Fridays and Saturdays from 4 p.m. to close, requires visitors under 16 to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian 21 years or older. The policy states that unescorted youth will be asked to leave and those who refuse may face prosecution for trespassing.
