Warren Council to hear update on stalled AutoParkit project

WARREN, Ohio - Warren City Council has scheduled a meeting for Wednesday, June 4, to address ongoing concerns surrounding the stalled AutoParkit facility development and the prolonged closure of Dana Street.
The meeting, called by City Council Traffic and Safety Chair Tiffany Stanford, is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. at the Warren City Council chambers, located at 141 South Street, S.E.
Christopher Alan, President and CEO of AutoParkit, is expected to provide an update on the facility's progress and offer a tour of the site. The announcement comes after council members and residents expressed frustrations regarding a lack of communication and progress on the project, which has kept Dana Street closed since 2017.
During an April 30 council meeting, Stanford highlighted resident complaints about the lack of information on the project. Economic Development Director Michael Keys attributed delays to pending federal environmental clearances and grant funding requirements.
Stanford had previously indicated that if no substantial update was provided, she would push for a vote to reopen Dana Street. All council members, Keys, and other interested individuals are requested to attend the upcoming meeting.
