Stretch of State Route 170 closed Monday, work starts Thursday on Route 5 interchanges

The Ohio Department of Transportation announced upcoming road closures and impacts for culvert replacement and lighting improvements in Mahoning and Trumbull counties.
State Route 170 in Springfield Township, just north of the Columbiana County line, will close Monday, June 9, through Saturday, June 14, for a culvert replacement. The detour will direct traffic to State Route 617, to State Route 165, to State Route 14, and back to State Route 170.
In Trumbull County, State Route 5 lighting improvements will cause short-term closures at various interchanges on Thursday, June 12, and Friday, June 13, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. These closures, which will not occur simultaneously, are for light pole installation at:
- The State Route 5/82 and U.S. 422 interchange.
- The State Route 5/82 and Perkins Jones Road interchange.
- The State Route 5/82 and Elm Road interchange.
All detours will be posted, and the lighting improvement project is estimated to be completed in late August 2025.
