One taken to hospital after being struck by train in Weathersfield Township

WEATHERSFIELD TWP., Ohio - One man was taken to the hospital after possibly being struck by a train in Weathersfield Township on the tracks that border Weathersfield Township and McDonald.
Authorities say that the incident happened just after 10 a.m. on Monday.
The call came in from the railroad company itself, stating that there may have been an individual struck, according to the fire department.
According to Weathersfield Police Chief Naples, officers were dispatched to the area of tracks by Olive Street.
According to the McDonald Fire Department, McDonald EMS and Weathersfield Police Department responded to the scene. According to a report from Weathersfield PD, McDonald was the first on scene.
McDonald crews found a man lying off the tracks and down the embankment. He was taken to the hospital, the response being classified as "emergent", which is lights and sirens. His condition is unknown at this time.
According to the report, a book bag was found at the scene, as well as an eye glasses case that had alleged drugs and drug paraphernalia in it.
The scene is cleared as of 1:20 p.m. Monday according to the fire department.
The identity of the man has not been released at this time.
