Poland & Mahoning Valley - The Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County (PLYMC) is holding a community feedback meeting on June 24 that will ultimately decide what will be done to the Poland Library.

Those within the Poland community, namely Poland Village council and donor who helped get the building that houses the library renovated believe that PLYMC have not been taking care of the property.

"It seems our investment has not been properly maintained," said Poland Village Councilwoman Abbie Bosak. "I does seem like it wasn't maintained to an acceptable level."

Poland community members are encouraged to attend the meeting if they have any questions they want to ask about the library.  All questions must be submitted on an index card in which a moderator will read during the meeting.

The renovation project that allowed for this building to become what it is today took place right after the turn of the century, and over the nearly 24 years since it has become a landmark to the community of Poland.

"I think the only acceptable solution for the members of our community and the donors would be for the library to restore our building and our investment to the condition it was in when we invested in and designed it."

PLYMC will decide to either maintain the current building, renovate it or relocate and rebuild an entirely new library.

The PLYMC meeting is being held at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24.
