NILES, Ohio - The Trumbull County Coroner’s office has released the name of the man who died after what his obituary said was an industrial accident at a Niles aluminum plant.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is investigating after Ray Delbene, 60, of Niles died Friday.

Delbene was taken to a hospital by ambulance after being found unconscious at BRT Extrusions on North Main Street.

Although Delebene’s obituary says the machine operator died from injuries sustained in an industrial accident, the coroner is waiting for the results of toxicology tests before issuing a ruling on the death.

An emailed statement from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration says it has opened an investigation into the incident, and more details will be available after the investigation is complete.
