Youngstown State University supporting veterans with grant for educator prep

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Youngstown State University (YSU) is now offering support to veterans and other military personnel with a grant that aims to eliminate barriers to enroll in and complete an education preparation program.
The grant, called the EmpowerVetEd Grant, was created in partnership with the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce and the Department of Veteran Services.
The grant is specifically geared to help military individuals enroll and complete an educator preparation program.
According to a release from YSU, to be considered for the grant, applicants must meet one of the following qualifiers:
- Possess an honorable discharge
- Currently serving in the military
- Spouse of a military member or veteran
