'Hair of the dog': Repeat shower chances with a sticky feel

The phrase "weekend plans" has, unfortunately, become synonymous with "rainy forecast" around here lately. As we near the summer solstice on Friday, June 20th, we've had at least a trace of precipitation on an astounding 21 of 24 weekends in 2025, spoiling countless Saturdays and Sundays with extended landscaping projects, outdoor weddings, graduation ceremonies, and recreational plans - a real bummer this year. For those of you weary of checking the radar, we've got BREAKING NEWS: the pattern is showing signs of shifting, with the potential for sunshine to grace both days this upcoming weekend. Let's hope this promising outlook sticks!

Isolated to scattered showers, at best, could occur during the peak heating on Monday. But for most of the day, clouds will have the upper hand over sunshine. Any shower or thunderstorm could produce bouts of heavy rainfall. Temperatures will warm on either side of 80, extending a warming trend through the middle of the week.

Expect increased coverage of showers and storms on Tuesday, which may impact both commutes.

A late-week severe weather threat looms for late Wednesday into Thursday.

Friday not only marks the first day of summer but also brings a summer sizzle to the weekend.

For the first full weekend of summer, it's time to dream of sunshine and high temps - right?! The long-range forecast is painting a picture of much warmer conditions. We're hoping for several upcoming weekends to finally "show a little leg" around here, as everyone's still wondering when that first 90-degree day will make its debut! All signs suggest that our first 90° afternoon of the season could occur this upcoming weekend on Sunday, which is typical for this time of year.

Have a great Monday!
