According to a news release, branches of the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County (PLYMC) will be acting as cooling spaces during the heat advisory period.

According to the PLYMC website, all branches will be serving as cooling spaces from June 23 to June 25.

The release states that locations with meeting rooms will be utilizing those spaces and making them available to community members looking to cool off.

During library hours, visitors can utilize the air-conditioned environment, access to drinking water and library amenities and materials while staying out of the heat, according to the release.

PLYMC locations, according to the PLYMC website, are as follows:

  • Austintown - 600 South Raccoon Road, Youngstown
  • Boardman - 7690 Glenwood Avenue, Youngstown
  • Brownlee Woods - 4010 Sheridan Road, Youngstown
  • Campbell - 436 Struthers-Coitsville Road, Lowellville
  • Canfield - 43 West Main Street, Canfield
  • East - 430 Early Road, Youngstown
  • Main - 305 Wick Avenue, Youngstown
  • Michael Kusalaba - 2815 Mahoning Avenue, Youngstown
  • Newport - 3730 Market Street, Youngstown
  • Poland - 311 South Main Street, Poland
  • Sebring - 195 West Ohio Avenue, Sebring
  • Springfield - 10418 Main Street, New Middletown
  • Struthers - 95 Poland Avenue, Struthers
  • Tri-Lakes - 13820 Mahoning Avenue, North Jackson
