There still may be tension between Youngstown State and the Pitt Panthers football programs based on last years game.

Pitt beat the Penguins 73-17 in what some feel was running up the score.

In two previous games under Coach Pat Narduzzi the Panthers won by respectable scores

Prior to last years game  Narduzzi told his players, "there's 12 games in a season.  Eleven are for you. Give me this one here."

Narduzzi was referring to playing the Penguins where his father, Bill was the head coach from 1975-1985 and was later fired.

Now, nine months later Narduzzi told 21 Sports he's open to playing the Penguins again.

"Absolutely, those are opportunities. The proximately of Pittsburgh and Youngstown, lets play that game, I'm for playing it anytime," said Narduzzi.

Despite losing last year YSU received $450,000.

Right now, their games against power five programs is filled through 2029.
