YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Penguin City Brewing is celebrating Youngstown's 229th birthday by honoring Youngstown's brewing history and reviving an iconic name.

Penguin City has teamed up with the Mahoning Valley Historical Society and Youngstown CityScape to launch the Renner: Old Bavaria Style Beer during the Happy Birthday Youngstown event Friday, June 27 at 5 p.m.

Penguin City Co-Owner Aspasia Lyras says this collaboration is about not just beer, but Youngstown's brewing legacy.

"We're proud to work with the Renner family to honor Youngstown's brewing history and bring this iconic name back to life," Lyras said.

The Renner Brewing Company is Youngstown's oldest brewery dating back over 100 years.

The beer will be avaialble for purchase in Penguin City's taproom as well as at select retailers in the Valley starting June 27.
