54th Annual Tri-State Pottery Festival kicks off Friday in East Liverpool

EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio - The 54th Annual Tri-State Pottery Festival sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of East Liverpool is set to kick off Friday, June 27.
The festival will take place from 11 a.m. until 11 p.m. Friday, June 27 and Saturday, June 28, and 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 29 in East Liverpool.
There will be plenty of pottery vendors to shop from, as well as rides, food, games, live entertainment, a door knob and dime toss, a car show and touch-a-truck event and many more events throughout the three-day festival.
Below, you will find a complete guide to all events taking place over the course of the festival, as well as a map of all points of interest.
FRIDAY:
- 11 a.m. - Stuffed animal contest at the clock tower: Guests are encouraged to resgister their favorite stuffed animal for the contest at the Alumni Clock Tower.
- 2 p.m. - Random Music on The Main Stage
- 2 p.m. - Hula hoop contest at the KSU Amphitheatre: Contestants will be broken up into three categories: 6-8 years old, 9-10 years old and 11-13 years old. Prizes will be available for the winners of each category.
- 3 p.m. - Bill Crawford on the Main Stage
- 5 p.m. - Opening ceremony on the Main Stage
- 5:30 p.m. - DJ Overkill on the Main Stage
- 7 p.m. - Beard and mustache contest at the Museum of Ceramics: Participants are asked to make a $2 donation to enter. Awards will be given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners in three categories: Beard, Mustache and Mustache and Beard Combo.
- 8 p.m. - Quaseye Band on the Main Stage
SATURDAY:
- 11 a.m. - Darren Miller on the Main Stage
- 12:30 p.m. - L&B Donut eating contest on the Main Stage: There will be three heats with each one containing six people. The top two from each heat will go to the final heat where the winner will receive a $25 gift card to L&B Donuts and Catering. Registration will take place at the Main Stage tent the day of the contest.
- 1 p.m. - Car show in the parking lot of the New Castle School of Trades
- 2 p.m. - Thompson House tours (lasts until 6 p.m.)
- 2 p.m. Esthetics Pottery of East Liverpool at the Museum of Ceramics
- 2:30 p.m. - Mad River Men on the Main Stage
- 2:30 p.m. - Tattoo contest at the KSU Amphitheatre: Entry fee is $5 per person and all tattoos must be appropriate for all ages and on appropriate parts of the body. Prizes will be given to one man and one woman in three categories including most realistic, most detailed and most regretted. If you want to submit your tattoo in more than one category, you only have to pay one time. All winners will receive a $125 gift card to Here After Tattoo Company in New Brighton, PA.
- 5 p.m. - Pet show and unusual cat and dog contest at the KSU Amphitheatre: Pet registration begins at 4:30 p.m. Registration is open to children and adults.
- 6 p.m. - E O A W on the Main Stage
- 8 p.m. - Empty Bottles Band on the Main Stage
SUNDAY:
- 10 a.m. - Church service on the Main Stage
- 12 p.m. - Frank "Digger" Dawson memorial tribute on the Main Stage
- 12:30 p.m. - Baking contest at the Venture Building (515, Broadway Street): There is a non-refundable $5 entry fee for the contest, which has two groups: junior (ages 6-13) and adults (ages 14 and over). Both groups will compete in the same categories: Cakes, pies and cookies. There will be a first place winner for both groups in all three categories and one overall winner from all of the categories for the adult group only. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m.
- 1 p.m. - Baby contest at the KSU Amphitheatre: The contest is split into six divisions: 4-8 months, 9-12 months, 13-18 months, 19-24 months, 25-36 months and twins/multiples. Entry costs $8 prepaid and $10 cash only on the day of the event. Sign ups take place between 11 am and noon Sunday.
- 1 p.m. - Touch-A-Truck at the New Castle School of Trades Parking Lot
- 2 p.m. - Full Circle Band on the Main Stage
- 2:30 p.m. - Chalk drawing contest on the sidewalk of the main building at Kent State University: The contest will be split into five groups: 5-7 years old, 8-12 years old, 13-15 years old, 16-18 years old and 19 years old and above. There will be a prize for the winner of each group. Registration kicks off at 2 p.m.
- 3 p.m. - Cornhole tournament in the Museum of Ceramics parking lot: Registration is $5 per person. This will be a doubles tournament and double elimination. There will be a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winner. You can register by calling Perry Howard at 330-843-2147.
- 5:30 p.m. - Duck race on Washington Street: Only 500 ducks will be sold for this event. You can enter by Venmoing $5 per duck to ELKIWANIS-25. If you dont have Venmo you can also visit the Kiwanis tent to purchase your ducks.
- 6 p.m. - Boat parade on the Broadway Wharf: This is a new event for 2025. You can register your boat for the parade beginning at 5 p.m. at the boat ramp at Chester City Park. Boats will be judged in the following categories: most patriotic, most unique and Pottery Festival themed.
