One emaciated dog, two others rescued in Trumbull County
TRUMBULL COUNTY, OH - An already packed Healthy Hearts and Paws Project is taking in more dogs after three were rescued in Trumbull County Saturday.
Healthy Hearts and Paws founder Jason Cooke was called to a home on Cadwallader-Sonk Road in Bazetta Township for reports of an emaciated dog.
Bazetta Township police were able to make contact with the dogs owner, who voluntarily surrendered him.
The dog, who is named Titan, was immediately taken to the Niles Veterinary Clinic, and was put on heart medication.
Titan's owner is expected to face charges.
In Warren, officers were called to a home on Packard Street, where they found two dogs chained in a backyard, without any access to food or water.
Both dogs were removed from the home, and are in the care of the Healthy Hearts and Paws Project.
Cooke believes that their owners will be facing animal cruelty charges.
Cooke reiterated through Facebook that the shelter is in desperate need of donations, and that they are always looking for volunteers.
