YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Fire crews were at the scene of an abandoned building located in the area of the intersection of Jones Street and Brittain Street on Sunday just before 1 p.m.

The fire started on the roof of the abandoned building.

No one was injured, but the cause of the fire is unknown at this time according to officials.

Although no official cause for the fire has been released, Youngstown Fire Batallion Chief Manchester speculates that the fire could have started by a smoldering firework.

Chief Manchester speculates that after holiday fireworks had concluded, the remains of the firework landed on the top of the building and smoldered overnight.

After the sun came back up, the firework remains could have reignited and caused the fire.
