Southwoods Health was presented with a cumulative award from Boardman Township Board of Trustees during the board's Monday meeting.

The award, according to Ed Muransky, Southwoods Health Founder and CEO, was for work that they have done in the township and to recognize Southwoods Health for traits such as patient satisfaction and cleanliness.

Southwoods Health opened its doors in June of 1996, and will soon be preparing for its 30th year in operation.

Additionally, Muransky told 21 News that Southwoods Health is preparing for a few major updates.

"We are deep into helping Trumbull County and having that care stay locally," said Muransky.

Muransky continued," We're in the middle of a $20 million expansion in the Boardman campus that added four [operating room]'s and redid all our clinical areas and added a new endoscopy area."

Muransky told 21 News that more information about these expansions should be heard near the end of July, 2025.

"That's in the works - we'll be announcing some stuff and [the] ground's already been moving for five or six years on that project, and this is just a continuation of that, once again, keep jobs here, keep health care here. And that's a commitment that I've had for thirty years," said Muransky.
