Ritz cracker sandwiches recalled due to error that could lead to life-threatening allergic reaction

U.S. & Mahoning Valley - Mondelez Global LLC has issued an urgent recall on multiple carton sizes of Ritz peanut butter cracker sandwiches due to a labeling error that could cause a life-threatening allergic reaction.
According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), some eight, 20 and 40 pack cartons of Ritz peanut butter cracker sandwiches, as well as a 20-piece variety pack have been recalled due to incorrect labeling.
These products were sold at retail stores nationwide.
The FDA states that the cartons contain individually wrapped packs of peanut butter cracker sandwiches incorrectly labeled as cheese cracker sandwiches. This could cause a serious, potentially life-threatening allergic reaction for those allergic to peanut butter.
The cartons themselves are correctly labeled as the peanut butter variety and include an allergen warning. The variety pack contains 10 peanut butter packs and 10 cheese packs.
So far, there have been no reported illnesses or allergic reactions stemming from this product.
