Belmont Pines CEO leaves hospital amid investigations
A statement from Belmont Pines, a hospital for troubled youth in Youngstown, reads in part, "The former CEO of Belmont Pines Hospital has left the organization. An Interim CEO is now in place..."
While it's unclear what specifically caused the CEO's departure, there are allegations of abuse currently being investigated at the hospital.
According to a June 13th police report, two victims were allegedly sexually assaulted in house and taken to Akron Children's for an evaluation.
This isn't the first time assaults have been reported at the hospital.
Back in March Liberty Police investigated a call regarding a 15-year-old at the facility assaulting staff members and other young patients there, aged 11, 13 and 14, acting in such a disorderly manner that it was deemed a riot.
There have also been reports of attempted escapes from the hospital.
The hospital's statement continues, "Any allegation of significant misconduct, including incidents between patients, is taken seriously and immediately investigated. We are cooperating with the authorities."
The alleged sexual assaults remain under investigation.
