The high school football regular season starts in six weeks and Southern Local is looking for a new head coach.
21 Sports learned Rich Wright signed a resignation letter and it was accepted by the board of education earlier this week. He also stepped down from his high school principal position.
Superintendent Tom Cunningham said there were "irreconcilable differences" and that's when Wright decided to step down.
The board posted the position and hope to have it filled as soon as possible.
Wright was at Southern Local for 10 years and had a record of 68-39 with seven straight playoff appearances.
