WARREN, Ohio - It’s been less than a week since an early morning arson in Warren displaced three people. In an exclusive interview, 21 News sat down with the woman who jumped out of a window in desperation to get to safety.

Savannah Randolph spent days in the hospital. She’s still processing that early morning chaos on Porter Street.

“When I woke up all I could see was dark smoke coming through my door so like we could hardly see, breathe anything,” Randolph said. “I guess the adrenaline just overcame me and I punched out the window and wasn’t even thinking.”

She tried to grab onto the side of the house but fell two stories onto her side breaking her pelvis and hip in three places and fracturing her wrist that needed surgery. Her fiancé Paul jumped out the same window onto a car and only had minor cuts on his hands. Savannah's left with cuts and bruises to her hands and legs along with stitches in her head.

Her right arm is wrapped in a cast as she uses a walker and wheelchair to get around. Savannah’s recovery starts with learning how to walk again and dealing with some severe post traumatic stress from the fire.

“I keep having nightmares about the whole situation and the sirens, just the smell of smoke. I have really bad anxiety about it now,” she said.

The arson was caught on a Ring doorbell camera. The video shared by Ohio State Fire Marshals shows a man with a cigarette in his mouth approaching the door. He’s later seen running from that porch as flames start to spread.

Prosecutors believe 33-year-old Andrew Jordan intentionally set the fire. Jordan has been arrested and charged with three counts of aggravated arson. He was set to be arraigned on court Friday morning but was “medically unavailable.” A new court date has not yet been set.

Savannah said she knows Jordan but doesn't know why he would do this.

“Honestly, I just want to see him face to face and ask him myself,” she said as she refrained from sharing any emotions she has towards Jordan.

All that's left at the house she lived in for a year is ash. A GoFundMe has been started for Savanah, Paul and the owner of the house Jeff. Along with clothes and shoes Savannah also needs some medical aid equipment like a shower bench while she starts moving around again.

As she goes through the long journey of healing, her one bright light is that this situation has brought her closer to Paul.

“The only thing I keep thinking about is if I wasn't there he wouldn’t be alive right now…we’re just so happy that we have each other really because without each other I don't know where we’d be to be honest,” she said.

Amid all the chaos of getting into an ambulance and staying in the hospital Savannah and Paul did not get to connect with the American Red Cross for any assistance. Anyone who wants to donate can contact Savannah at 234-424-7873.
