BOARDMAN, Ohio - A floral shop that has been operating in Boardman for over 50 years held its grand reopening after a complete renovation.

GEMS Floral, Garden, and Gifts, located on South Avenue in Boardman, offers a wide variety of items for sale inside, such as crystals, stone carvings, butterfly dioramas and even insect taxidermy.

This comes alongside their regular garden and flower needs on offer and other services such as custom work and events.

"We do commission work. Anything that you want to do, we can start to finish and help you out as much as we can," said GEMS co-owner Gregory Stanko.

The store's new interior look following the renovation is that of a "cabinet of curiosities."

"We wanted to give a touch of natural history inside of everyone's lives, and just see how we could beautify it as much as we possibly could," Stanko said.

The grand opening event began on Friday, July 18, and will continue through Sunday, July 20.
