Champion Township trustees to address flooding concerns tonight

CHAMPION TWP., Ohio - Champion Township Trustees will hold a special meeting today to discuss flooding issues that have impacted residential properties. The meeting is set for 6 p.m. at the Township Administration Building, 240 Marshall Ave.
The discussion follows recent rain that led to flooding in the township. In April, residents on Downs Road NW and Schaffer Road NW reported extensive water damage, with one resident on Schaffer Road NW stating that nearly an acre of her property was underwater. Videos from residents showed a bridge nearly submerged by a swollen creek.
At the time, Champion Township Trustee Rex Fee characterized the flooding as a regional issue, not specific to the township, resulting from a multi-day rain event that overwhelmed local waterways
