Malcolm-Jamal Warner, best known as Theo Huxtable on 'The Cosby Show,' dead at 54

Actor Malcolm-Jamal Warner, best known for playing Theo Huxtable on "The Cosby Show," has died.
TMZ and the Associated Press have reported that Warner died due to an accidental drowning while vacationing in Costa Rica. Warner was swimming at Playa Cocles in Limon province when a current pulled him deeper into the ocean.
The Associated Press said the Costa Rica Judicial Investigation Department's initial report claimed he was rescued by people on the beach but first responders found him without vital signs.
Warner spent eight seasons on "The Cosby Show" from 1984-1992 and was nominated for the "Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series" Emmy Award in 1986.
After "The Cosby Show," he starred in the sitcom "Malcolm & Eddie" from 1996-2000 and also voiced The Producer on the animated kids show "The Magic School Bus" from 1994-1997.
In recent years, he played Al "A.C." Cowlings on "American Crime Story" and Dr. AJ Austin on "The Resident."
Warner also won a Grammy Award in 2015 for "Best Traditional R&B Performance" for his song "Jesus Children."
He was 54 years old.
