Car crash leads to outage in Boardman-Canfield area, 4,000 without power for nearly 3 hours

BOARDMAN & CANFIELD, Ohio - Power lines falling down has led to a power outage that affected 4,000 residents and businesses across Boardman, Canfield and Canfield Township in the early afternoon of Tuesday, July 22.
About 1,200 Ohio Edison customers, or 31% of Canfield Township's power from first energy is reported down by Ohio Edison. Nearly 3,000 of the reported outages come from Boardman, around 12% of all of Boardman's customer base of Ohio Edison.
Ohio Edison's power outage map shows the area affected from the downed power lines, along with an estimated time for the power to come back up in the "My Town," section of the website.
The website states that the affected area has been restored to functional order with almost all power outage reports going away by 3 p.m.
FirstEnergy told 21 News that a car had crashed into a utility pole on 224 by businesses like Acura of Boardman and Pulp.
