Some Ohio state leaders have issued statements regarding the shooting in Lorain on Wednesday afternoon that left three police officers injured.

The three police officers involved are being treated at the hospital with two of them sustaining "serious injuries."

Governor Mike DeWine and Lieutenant Governor Jim Tressel issued statements regarding the incident.

Governor DeWine states in the release that he has been briefed on the officer-involved shooting.

"Fran and I are praying for the three Lorain Police Department officers who were shot in the line of duty today, and our thoughts are also with their families, friends and fellow officers in northeast Ohio," said Governor DeWine.

Lieutenant Governor Tressel also issued a statement with similar thoughts of the officers and their families, also extending prayers to the Lorain community.

"When our law enforcement officers leave for work, they never know what challenges await them. We are grateful for what they do to protect us."

Additionally, Senator Bernie Moreno issued a statement on the social media site X, stating that his team is monitoring the situation.

"Attacks on law enforcement are unacceptable and I'm proud to stand with our brave men and women in blue."

At this time, the condition of the three officers involved is unknown.
