Youngstown K9 receiving body armor through donation from local lemonade stand

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - A K9 with the Youngstown Police Department is getting body armor thanks to a donation from a nonprofit.
The department posted on Facebook that K9 Max will receive a bullet and stab protective vest through Vested Interest in K9s, Inc.
The money for Max's vest was raised by two local kids, Jordan and Annalise, who started Aunt Mimi's Lemonade Stand in honor of their late aunt.
Max's vest is expected to arrive within the next 10 weeks.
Vested Interest in K9s was started in 2009 with a mission to provide protection to law enforcement dogs in the United States. Over that time, the organization has provided more than 6,000 vests worth nearly $7 million.
The money raised through the lemonade stand is providing vests to 13 local K9s across eight agencies.
