WARREN A Warren man has pleaded guilty to a "crime spree" that occured in Champion Township during 2023.

Harold Michaels, 51, of Warren pleaded guilty on Monday.

The case was scheduled to go to trial, but now, Michaels will be sentenced following a background investigation conducted by probation officers. 

Michaels pleaded guilty to two counts of burglary (F3) and three counts of breaking and entering (F5).

According to Champion Police Chief Larry Skaggs, Michaels was accused of perpetrating the spree that included three different break-ins.

Chief Skaggs says that Michaels allegedly broke into garages of homes and stole thousands of dollars worth of tools and other items.

Chief Skaggs also says that Michaels allegedly stole a vehicle, which he used to move the stolen items, and then set the vehicle on fire.

Additionally, police reports in Warren show that Michaels was convicted of a December 2023 burglary of a home on Genesee Avenue in Howland Township.

The house was missing a $800 television, a $500 flight simulator and $300 in other children's toys according to reports.
