American Heart Association recognizes Youngstown, East Liverpool hospitals

According to a news release, several hospitals in the northeast region in Ohio have been recognized for their efforts in an initiative that aims to improve outcomes for Americans who experience heart disease or stroke.
Included in those recognized in Northeast Ohio were:
- East Liverpool City Hospital, located at 425 West 5th Street, East Liverpool
- St. Elizabeth Health Center, located at 1044 Belmont Avenue, Youngstown
These two hospitals are being recognized for their efforts in the American Heart Association's "Get With The Guidelines" initiative.
The "Get With The Guidelines" initiative aims to improve outcomes for Americans who experience heart disease and stroke.
The recognition is given to hospitals that consistently follow up-to-date and research based guidelines to ensure all patients have access to live-saving care, according to the release.
"Every 40 seconds, someone in America has a stroke or heart attack," said Lisa Wheeler-Cooper, executive director of the American Heart Association in Northeast Ohio.
Wheeler-Cooper continued," High-quality care should be accessible to all, and site awarded through the 'Get With The Guidelines' program help work toward our shared vision of health and hope for everyone, everywhere."
