Mercer County, Pa. - Mercer County has a new facility for Troop D of the Pennsylvania State Police.

The 14,000 square-foot barracks sits on Steingrabe Road offers troopers more space for communications, locker rooms and training.

The new facility is more centrally located in the county, helping troopers respond more quickly to the areas they cover.

"We can make an appropriate and timely response to all parts of the county that we cover," Station Commander Dan J. Sindlinger said. "This is very centrally located right off of Exit 15. We're pretty much smack in the middle of the county."

The project for the new barracks began construction in 2019 and replaces the old location in Mercer, which has been decommissioned.
