Brookdale Bridge replacement, road closures

EAST PALESTINE, Oh - The Brookdale Bridge's nine-month overhaul has begun. The Columbiana County Engineer's office, in partnership with the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), will be replacing the bridge with a more durable, long-lasting structure. Detours are planned for any traffic traveling over Brookdale Avenue (County Road 443) as well as several surrounding roads, according to ODOT.
The million-dollar project will result in a significantly stronger bridge, in comparison to the current 1940-era structure.
The first round of road closures and detours will last from August 1 through August 10, 8:00am to 5:00pm.
ODOT stated the project will minorly impact traffic in the village of East Palestine Park but the park's amenities will not be impacted or closed during construction.
More information on the bridge reconstruction can be found on ODOT's website.
