Motorcycle run in Youngstown honors memory of community biker

YOUNGSTOWN The community gathered on Saturday to honor a motorcycle rider who had died in April of 2025.
According to an obituary from Fox Funeral Home, located at 4700 Market Street in Youngstown, Ronald Gerren Jr., 59, died on April 5 surrounded by family after a long battle with cancer.
Gerren was an active member of Unity In The Community (UITC), a motorcycle club that aims to unite and help those in need.
Members of UITC and the community gathered at East Side Civics & Athletic Club, found at 968 East Midlothian Boulevard, to get ready for a bike run in memory of Gerren.
Riders headed from East Side Civics & Athletic Club to a few locations favored by Gerren, including stops in Newton Falls and Lake Milton.
Madison Gerren, Gerren's daughter and volunteer during the event, told 21 News that her father had been diagnosed with colon, spinal, bladder and lung cancer.
All proceeds gathered during the event were to be used for any hospital, hospice and funeral expenses the family is covering.
"He was always riding his bike, he loved [the] Notre Dame [football team]; Anytime you needed him, he was the guy to call, anytime," said Madison Gerren.
The event featured a 50/50 raffle, a luck auction, a spaghetti dinner, a bike run and other activities.
