One dead, three wounded in Warren shootings over the weekend
WARREN Police are investigating three shootings in Warren over the weekend, one of them fatal.
The most recent shooting was reported shortly before 5:30 a.m. along Elm Road NE and Larchmont Ave. NE.
21 News was at the scene after investigators placed crime scene tape and more than 40 evidence markers in front of the Convenient Food Mart in the otherwise residential neighborhood.
One witness who did not want to go on camera told 21 News she saw four or five men drinking and shooting dice in the store parking lot. She said the men started yelling, and shortly after, she heard gunshots.
A news release from the Warren Police Department says officers found two males at the scene, both of whom were taken to a hospital. One of the males taken to the hospital died of his injuries.
The identity of the victim has not been released at this time. Police did not reveal the condition of the second victim.
At this time, the circumstances leading up to the incident are unknown.
The release also detailed two other shooting incidents the Warren Police Department responded to during the weekend.
On Saturday, police were called out to the 500 block of Phillips Drive SW around 9:15 p.m. for reports of a gunshot victim.
Officers located and provided medical aid to the victim.
The victim was later taken to the hospital for further medical treatment. There is no update given on the victim's condition.
Additionally, on Sunday around 2:40 a.m., officers responded to the 300 block of Scott Street NE for reports of a gunshot victim.
When officers arrived on scene and located the victim, aid was provided.
The victim was then taken to the hospital. Their condition is currently unknown.
