LISBON The Columbiana County Health District is alerting residents that its vital statistics program will be temporarily offline Wednesday morning.

The downtime will take place the morning of Wednesday, August 6 as the Health District implements its new statewide records system.

During the down period, vital statistics will be unable to certify, file or issue birth or death certificates, approve burial or cremation permits or register home births. All of these services will resume once the new system is live.

Once the new system is live, the fee for certified birth and death certificates will remain $27.

The Health District can provide birth certificates to anyone in Ohio regardless of the county they currently live in, but death certificates are only provided for those who died in Columbiana County with the exception of Salem and East Liverpool.

Death certificates for Salem and East Liverpool can be obtained in those cities' respective health districts.

No time frame was given for how long the transition to the new system would take. If you need help during the transition period, you can call 330-424-0272.
