YOUNGSTOWN August is shaping up to be a busy month in Youngstown, with a lineup of events ranging from live concerts and festivals to community gatherings. The city is offering a diverse schedule of activities for all ages, with several key events highlighting the month's calendar.

Legendary rocker Alice Cooper will bring his theatrical show to the Youngstown Foundation Amphitheatre on Sunday, Aug. 17. The concert is one of the most anticipated musical events of the summer, offering fans a chance to see a true rock icon live.

Panerathon, a large-scale 10k/2-mile race and walk, is scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 24, at the Covelli Centre. The annual event draws thousands of participants and spectators, raising money for a variety of local charities. It has become a significant community tradition.

The Youngstown State University Penguins football team will kick off their 2025 season at home against the Mercyhurst Lakers on Thursday, Aug. 28, at 6:00 p.m. at Stambaugh Stadium. This game marks the start of the fall sports season and is a major event for local sports fans.

Pickle enthusiasts can look forward to the inaugural Youngstown Pickle Fest on Saturday, Aug. 16, at Penguin City Brewing Company. The event, starting at 12:00 p.m., will celebrate all things pickle, with vendors and pickle-themed food and drink.

The band Train, with special guest Edwin McCain, will perform at the Youngstown Foundation Amphitheatre on Tuesday, Aug. 12. The concert is part of the city’s summer concert series and is expected to draw a large crowd.
