Human Trafficking Task Force arrest prostitution suspect at Beaver Township hotel

BEAVER TOWNSHIP A Youngstown man pleaded “not guilty” to promoting prostitution after his arrest at a Beaver Township motel.
Costandino P. Diamantes, 62, was arrested Sunday night at a Market Street Motel by township police assisting the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force.
According to the police report, a township officer and a detective from the task force found a silver Cadillac at the motel with Diamantes in the driver's seat. Officers ordered Diamantes out of the vehicle, placing him under arrest for promoting prostitution.
A search of the vehicle and a purse belonging to a female passenger turned up suspected crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia, including a pipe.
Diamantes was taken to the Beaver Township Police Department for booking before being transported to Mahoning County Jail. The female passenger was also taken into custody, but her identity and specific charges were not listed in the report.
Additional drug charges may be considered, pending a review of the case by the Mahoning County Prosecutor.
Diamantes appeared in Mahoning County Court on Tuesday for his arraignment, where he pleaded not guilty. His bond was set at $7,500. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Friday.
