Derrick McDowell's 'First 90 Days' if elected as Mayor of Youngstown

YOUNGSTOWN - Independent Youngstown Mayoral candidate Derrick McDowell has released a statement going over "The Next 90 Days" and "The First 90 Days."
Those taglines are referring to the 90 days before the election on November 4, and his plans for McDowell's first 90 days in office should he win.
According to McDowell's statement, he wants to engage the community and gather "top-priority action items" that he will use to guide his initial days in office.
"We want the community's help to conceive our strategic road map for Derrick's first 90 days in office. Typically, political candidates choose 100 days, but this immediate effort is meant to be a more prompt response and a guiding framework for the larger challenge of properly shaping a comprehensive future for the City of Youngstown that desperately needs it now," says McDowell's statement.
His campaign website has been updated with a submission form where his voters can let him know directly which issues they want him to work on to earn their vote.
He also encourages voters to provide feedback in-person at his official "Community Listening Sessions" that he will be holding until the election.
McDowell's statement lists his current key issues as "Economic Development & Small Business, Education, Transportation, A Responsive City Hall, Neighborhood Investment, Transparent & Accountable Government, Public Safety, Population Stability & Growth."
