Ohio - Giant Eagle has officially joined the Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drugs network, allowing customers to pick up qualifying drugs for near-market prices at Giant Eagle Pharmacies.

According to the press release, Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company's mission is to offer safe medicines at the lowest possible price. They do so by negotiating drug prices directly with manufacturers and being transparent with the costs involved in providing medications, avoiding large mark-ups.

"Our goal is to dramatically reduce the cost of drugs," says Mark Cuban, co-founder of Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company. "But we also think that it is just as important to introduce transparency to the pricing of drugs so patients know they are getting a fair price. Partnerships with retailers like Giant Eagle Pharmacy help us move our mission forward."

Customers interested in participating in the program can sign up for a Team Cuban Card, which will give them access to the catalogue of drugs available through the company. Then, customers can check that their prescribed drugs are available, ask their doctor to send their prescription to a participating pharmacy and pick up their medication.

"We pride ourselves on running a nationally recognized pharmacy and drugstore business where our licensed pharmacists and pharmacy technicians are committed to delivering trusted, personalized care," says Bill Artman, President and CEO of Giant Eagle. "Being part of the Cost Plus Drugs network ensures that our services are available to as many people across our communities as possible."

Customers will be able to pick up these discounted drugs at each of the 200 Giant Eagle Pharmacies across Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Maryland and Indiana.
