Boardman carjacking suspect apprehended, vehicle recovered

BOARDMAN Two teenagers told Boardman Police they were victims of a robbery and carjacking while parked outside a donut shop at Market Street and Midlothian Boulevard early Friday.
According to a police report, the two teen victims told officers that they were eating food in a black 2018 Nissan Sentra when three males in dark hoodies and black ski masks tapped on the front passenger window with a gun and demanded the victims’ wallets, phones, and car keys. After the victims complied and exited the car with their hands up, the suspects fled northbound in the vehicle.
Police said an acoustic guitar, an Apple MacBook, Beats headphones, and two iPhone 14s were among the items stolen from the vehicle. The victims’ wallets and $100 cash were also taken.
While Boardman police were taking the report, Youngstown police spotted the stolen Nissan Sentra on West Dewey Avenue. A pursuit began, and three suspects bailed from the vehicle near E. Dewey Avenue and Hillman Street. Youngstown police apprehended a female suspect and took her into custody.
The vehicle was recovered and towed to the Boardman Police Department to be processed at the owner’s request. Boardman police did not release the name or age of the female suspect and are continuing to investigate.
