Masury motorcyclist killed in police chase crash
According to a news release Oil City Police were chasing a Yamaha Roadstar for a traffic violation.

OIL CITY, Pa. - A Masury motorcyclist died Friday night in a crash during a police pursuit, Pennsylvania State Police said.
According to a news release, the crash occurred at around 9 p.m. as Oil City Police were chasing a Yamaha Roadstar for a traffic violation.
Police say 50-year-old Thomas Sweringen lost control on Route 62 in Cranberry Township. The bike went up an embankment, into a wooded area, striking several trees.
Police said Swearingen was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing a helmet, but it was used improperly, the report stated.
