REPORT: Monarch tractors not to be built in Ohio after Foxconn sells Lordstown plant

A certain brand of tractor will not be built in Ohio following the sale of the Foxconn manufacturing plant in Lordstown.
TechCrunch, a media group that covers technology news, is reporting that Praveen Penmetsa, the CEO of Monarch Tractor, confirmed the news in a LinkedIn comment on Tuesday.
"The recent news regarding Foxconn's Ohio manufacturing operations is limited to production at the Foxconn facility and does not impact Monarch's ability to serve our Monarch customers," said Penmetsa in the LinkedIn comment.
Monarch Tractor is the name of a company that sells driver-operated, data-driven and 100% electric tractors. It is headquartered in Livermore, California.
On the Monarch Tractor website, the Lordstown, Ohio manufacturing plant is named as one of the company's key locations.
Foxconn announced on August 4 that it will sell its manufacturing plant in Lordstown to an existing business partner. However, Foxconn will continue to operate and occupy the location.
Penmetsa noted in his LinkedIn comment that "Monarch partnered with Foxconn to build up enough inventory before the sale," and that there is enough stock to meet customer demand for the next year.
Additionally, Penmetsa reassures that enough spare parts are also available.
"In the coming weeks, we will be sharing more about our plans to introduce more Monarch-enabled products in the market through new manufacturing partnerships," said Penmetsa in the LinkedIn comment.
