Shenango choir welcomes new director, seeking members

SHARON, Pa. - The Shenango Valley Chorale is less than a month away from their performance season and this year they are under the baton of a new music director: Erich Lascek.
Lascek has taught choral music and participated in choral festivals across Pennsylvania, Ohio and New York. He has also taught music programs at Carnegie Mellon University and Messiah University. He is also the artistic director and conductor of the Masterworks Concert Chorale—an adult community choir based in Pittsburgh.
As the choir enters its 54th season, it is also looking for more choral music lovers to join their ranks.
The Shenango Valley Chorale Board said in a statement that they are looking forward to Lascek's leadership throughout the upcoming choral season. Lascek himself said that he hopes to welcome more new members this season.
"I look forward to building our membership and providing a wonderful variety of music for audiences that will appeal to people of all interests," Lascek said.
The chorale rehearses Monday evenings from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Sharon. No audition is required to join and the first rehearsal of the new choir season is on September 8.
